This year, Google is expected to introduce its second-generation foldable. Recently, tipster Onleaks in collaboration with Smartprix revealed high-quality renders of the Google Pixel Fold 2 smartphone, giving an early look at the refreshed camera design and key changes.

Google Pixel Fold 2 renders confirm that there will be a refreshed camera module design. The company is also opting for under-display camera technology, which Samsung first shipped with the Galaxy Z Fold 3. There’s plenty to explore, let’s jump into the details.

Google’s upcoming Pixel Fold 2 will likely boast a triple rear camera setup. Ditching the horizontal island, Google has gone for a bulky, rectangular camera island that protrudes from the rear panel; housing two pill-shaped cutouts.

In the first cutout from the top is a camera sensor and a pair of sensors, while the lower cutout contains two camera sensors and a tiny cutout. The flash module and a microphone are toward the right of these camera sensors.

When folded, the phone measures about 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.54 mm. The cover screen which brings a centrally-located punch-hole camera, measures about 6.4 inches, including the corners, the measurement goes up to 6.6 inches.

When unfolded, the Pixel Fold 2 measures about 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.27 mm. Its inner screen measures 7.9 inches diagonally and it goes up to 8.1 inches (factoring in the corners).

The USB-C port, speaker grill, microphone, and SIM tray are on the lower frame, while the power/volume buttons are on the right side. On the top, the phone has an antenna band and a secondary speaker grill.

Previously, it was reported that the Pixel Fold 2 will be equipped with a Tensor G4 processor, the same as the upcoming Pixel 9 flagships. If it’s true, we can speculate a launch later this year, pre-loaded with Android 15.

Google updates Chrome, Search, and Play Store for better user experience

Google

Google is rolling out exciting updates to make browsing, searching, and downloading apps smoother and safer for Android users. These changes focus on improving Chrome’s security, redesigning the Google Search bar, and enhancing the Google Play Store’s download process.

Chrome’s Improved Security

Google Chrome now offers stronger protection with “Enhanced Safe Browsing” powered by Gemini Nano, an AI model that works directly on your device. This feature checks websites in real-time to spot phishing attempts and other online threats, keeping your data safe without relying on cloud servers. It’s a step up from the standard protection, giving users more peace of mind while browsing.

Redesigned Google Search Bar

The Google Search bar on Android is getting a fresh look. It’s now simpler and easier to use, with a modern design that fits better with your phone’s home screen. The updated widget lets you access Search, Lens, or voice commands quickly. The new layout is clean and user-friendly, making searches faster and more intuitive.

Better Play Store Downloads

The Google Play Store is improving how it shows app download progress. A new notification design displays a progress bar right in your notification panel, so you can track downloads without opening the app. This small but helpful change makes managing app installs more convenient.

These updates show Google’s focus on creating a safer, simpler, and more efficient experience for Android users. They’re rolling out gradually, so keep an eye out for them on your device!

Google Pixel phone and watch update for May 2025 brings fixes and a fresh app look

Published

Android Feature Drop

Google is rolling out its May 2025 software update for Pixel devices, making things smoother for phones, tablets, and the Pixel Watch app. This update is all about fixing bugs and adding a small but nice change for Pixel Watch users. It’s available for devices running Android 15, like the Pixel 6, 7, 8, 9 series, and Pixel Tablet. The rollout started on May 7, 2025, and will reach devices over the next week, depending on your carrier.

For Pixel phones and tablets, the update tackles three key issues: better microphone recording, improved Bluetooth pairing, and general performance tweaks. It also includes 28 security fixes, with one possibly being targeted by hackers, so updating soon is a good idea. If you have a Pixel 6 or 8, note that this update locks the bootloader, meaning you can’t go back to older software versions.

On the Pixel Watch side, there’s no major device update this month, but the Pixel Watch app on Android now has a light theme option. This gives the app a brighter, cleaner look, making it easier to use in different lighting.

Google might share more about Wear OS at I/O 2025, but for now, the app’s new style is a welcome touch. To get the update, check your device settings. Pixel users can expect a notification soon, but you can also manually check for it. Stay updated for a better, safer experience.

Google

Google recently shared tips to help users make the most of the new Panorama mode in the Pixel 9 series Camera app. This feature lets you capture wide, stunning scenes. To get great results, hold your phone steady and move it slowly while taking the shot.

Google suggests practicing in open spaces to avoid blurry images. You can also use the vertical Panorama option for tall subjects like buildings or trees, a handy addition for creative photos. For best results, lock the exposure before starting to keep lighting consistent across the panorama.

In other news, Google unveiled the NotebookLM app for Android and iPhone, set to launch in beta around May 20, 2025, during I/O 2025. This app, previously a website, helps users organize notes and research. It has a simple design with tabs for recent and shared notebooks, plus a button to create new ones.

You can upload PDFs, web links, or YouTube videos, and even share content directly from other apps. The app offers an Audio Overview feature, letting you listen to summaries offline with a fun waveform display. Users can ask questions to AI hosts for deeper insights.

Both the Panorama mode and NotebookLM app show Google’s focus on making tools user-friendly and creative. The Camera app’s Panorama tips help anyone take better photos, while NotebookLM’s mobile app makes research easier on the go. Stay tuned for the NotebookLM beta on Google Play and the iOS App Store
