Google Phone App might get call log filters soon
Phone calls are still a big part of how we communicate, even with all the new ways to connect. But, keeping track of all those calls can be a bit overwhelming. Thankfully, Google might be working on a way to make managing your call history much simpler.
Currently, when you use the Google Phone app, all your calls, whether you made them, missed them, or received them, are shown in one long list. You can see this by hitting the “Recents” button at the bottom of the app. It’s handy because everything is there, but it can be tough to find just one call when you need it.
Good news could be on the way, though. In the latest beta version of the Phone app, labeled 159.0.718038457-publicbeta-pixel2024, Google seems to be cooking up some new features. Although these aren’t available to the public or even to beta testers yet, we’ve managed to sneak a peek at what’s coming.
The big update? Filters for your call log. Soon, you might be able to sort your calls by different types – like only showing missed calls, calls from your contacts, or calls marked as spam. Right now, the only similar feature is a button to see all missed calls, but this new system will be much more detailed.
We don’t know if Google will add even more ways to filter calls, like showing calls from certain dates or separating incoming from outgoing calls. But we’ll keep an eye out for any new developments in future updates. This change could make handling your call history a lot less of a headache.
