New Speed Boost for YouTube Premium Users: Watch videos 4 times faster

YouTube has introduced a new feature for its Premium subscribers that lets you watch videos at four times the regular speed. This is twice as fast as the previous top speed of 2x, which was already great for those who wanted to breeze through longer videos.

On Android, you can quickly move through videos by just holding your finger on the screen. This action doubles the playback speed, cutting your watch time in half. But if you want to go even faster, you can now set videos to play at 4x speed.

To use this super-fast option, you don’t just tap and hold; you need to go into the video settings and find the “Playback speed” menu. Here, alongside the usual speed choices from very slow at 0.25x to the normal 2x, you’ll now see the new 4x option.

This speed is so fast that you won’t be able to understand what’s being said, but it’s perfect if you’re watching instructional videos or if you want to skim through content quickly.

This new feature is only for YouTube Premium members on both Android and iOS devices. You can activate it by going to your profile, then to “premium benefits,” and finally to “experimental features.” Plus, there’s an added bonus for music lovers – an upgrade to HD audio quality.
