Charging your phone or watch all the time can hurt the battery. Google has a special feature called Smart Charging for their Pixel phones that helps the battery last longer. This feature watches when you charge your phone and only fills it up completely just before you usually take it off the charger. This helps keep the battery healthy, especially if you leave your phone plugged in all night.

Now, it looks like Google might bring Smart Charging to their Pixel Watches too. Some new code has been found in the latest update of the Pixel Watch app, hinting that this feature might come to watches soon. The code suggests that Google is preparing to let Pixel Watches use this smart charging method.

While we don’t know all the details yet, the Smart Charging on watches will likely work much like it does on phones. It will probably look at when you charge your watch and wait to fully charge it until right before you usually take it off.

We don’t have a release date for this feature yet, but we’ll keep watching for any new information and will let you know when there’s more to share. This could be a great way to make sure your Pixel Watch’s battery stays in good shape for a longer time.
