YouTube TV keeps CBS, Nickelodeon, and more channels thanks to new paramount agreement
This week, YouTube TV subscribers breathed a sigh of relief as the streaming service announced a successful agreement with Paramount. Earlier, there was a risk of losing popular channels like CBS, but this new deal ensures that won’t happen.
On February 12, 2025, YouTube TV disclosed that it was struggling to finalize terms with Paramount, which could have led to the removal of channels like CBS, CBS Sports, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, CMT, and others. Just a day after this announcement, YouTube TV managed to secure a temporary agreement to keep these channels on their platform while further discussions took place.
As of February 15, 2025, both companies have confirmed a long-term deal that guarantees the continued availability of CBS and its sister channels on YouTube TV. In a recent post on social media, YouTube TV expressed their commitment to maintaining the current selection of Paramount content, stating that “all these channels and add-ons will remain uninterrupted.”
Additionally, a message on YouTube TV’s support page stated:
“We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve secured a deal to keep Paramount channels, including CBS, CBS Sports, Nickelodeon, and more, on our service. This agreement allows YouTube TV to continue offering over 100 channels along with add-ons like Paramount+. We thank our subscribers for their patience during these negotiations.”
YouTube TV also promised a credit to subscribers if any channels had been unavailable for a significant duration, although this was not necessary thanks to the timely agreement.
