Google Tasks now has its own dedicated website

Good news for all the task managers out there! Google has now made Google Tasks available as a standalone website. This means you no longer have to navigate through Google Calendar to manage your to-do lists.

Before this update, if you wanted to access Google Tasks on the web, you’d go through the Google Calendar interface or find it tucked away in the sidebar of apps like Gmail and Google Drive. But now, tasks.google.com is its very own place where you can directly manage your tasks without any detours.

The layout looks very similar to what you’d see in Google Calendar but with a subtle twist: the Google Tasks logo now sits proudly in the top-left corner. Your lists are displayed as cards that you can easily rearrange, giving you a clean and organized view of all your tasks.

There’s a handy navigation drawer on the side where you can switch between viewing all tasks or only the starred ones. You can also choose to hide or show individual lists, and any changes you make will sync across to your mobile devices, ensuring everything is up-to-date no matter where you access it from.

One small catch is that the website follows your device’s dark mode settings, so there’s no option to manually switch between light and dark themes like you can with Google Calendar. This standalone website seems to have quietly launched just after late January, and it looks like Google plans to keep both the integrated and standalone experiences available, similar to how it’s done with the Android app and the Calendar integration (which hasn’t made its way to iOS yet). In summary, managing your daily tasks just got a bit more straightforward with Google Tasks now having its own home on the web.
